Love
written by: Brian Tuohy

See the rain fall through the trees
My hand held tight between your knees
Could not be a better day
Say you love me in your own special way

Sun rises light’s the day
Watching it set in a very simliar way

Love
it’s so strange
So unpredictable
You never when love
will walk right through your door
the one you’ve been yearning for
when you called out for love
so unusual so beuatiful

Hear her cry she’s lost her man
see him alone a loveless man
lovers fight anger there
as they make up there is love in the air

Love
it’s so strange
So unpredictable
You never when love
will walk right through your door
the one you’ve been yearning for
when you called out for love
so unusual so beuatiful

Music Buying Audience Is Growing & The CD Is Far From Dead

NPD’s new “Annual Music Study” shows that after years of losing consumers who simply stopped buying music, the total number of music buyers increased for the second consecutive year, growing 2% in 2011 to 78 million. The number of paid download buyers increased 14% in 2011 to 45 million customers.

Digital buyers also spent more at iTunes Music Store, Amazon MP3, and other digital music stores in 2011; the average annual expenditure for digital music rose 6 percent in 2011 to $49. After years of decline total music-track sales rose 4% percent during 2011.

Although CD sales dipped, the decline was not nearly as severe as in the past, and was offset by the paid-music download market. Even as Apple’s iTunes approaches its tenth anniversary next year, there are still nearly twice as many CD buyers in the U.S. as there are paid digital-music downloaders, according to NPD.

Why The Turnaround?

The study’s authors speculate that there are a variety of reasons for the overall increase including a perceived improvement in the quality and value of the music available, and a wider variety of sources to discover new music in online services like Pandora, Rhapsody, and Spotify.

NPD also reported that the fastest growing form of music listening was online radio. While listening to CDs and AM/FM radio are still by far the most popular ways Americans engage with music, online-radio listening has grown from 29% two years ago to reach 43% of the internet population in 2011.

P2P Use Down

According to the study, 13% of Internet users downloaded music from a P2P site, which is down from a peak of 19% in 2006. “Industry efforts to combat illegal file sharing, and increased options for listening and downloading legally, have resulted in a sharp reduction in the number of P2P music downloaders,” according to said Russ Crupnick, senior vice president of industry analysis at NPD.

While in Washington DC I did not have a car so I took Metro everywhere my bike would not go. During a winter morning on my way to work at Gannett I took the Metro to the TenlyTown station.

The escalator was making the most wonderful sound, moaning and groaning, as it escalated me to the train . . . I wrote this tune in the feeling of that sound of the escalator . . .

Loved hanging in Washington DC . . . it’s a great town . . .

A little about:

In 1790, Washington locals began calling the neighborhood “Tennally’s Town” after area tavern owner John Tennally. Over time, the spelling has evolved and by the 19th century the area was commonly known by its current name, although the spellingTennallytown continued to be used for some time in certain capacities, including streetcars through the 1920s.

The area is the site of Fort Reno, one of the forts that formed a ring around Washington D.C. during the American Civil War to protect the capital against invasions. It proved to be the crucial lookout point for preventing a siege of Washington (indeed, it is the highest natural point in the District of Columbia).

Fort Reno was decommissioned with the surrender of the Confederate armies.

In the post-Civil War era, Fort Reno was a free black community. This community was almost entirely wiped out when the federal government decided to condemn most of its housing to build Deal Middle School, Wilson High School, a park, and a water tower. The Jesse Lee Reno school building, which housed an African-American school during the Jim Crow era, is one of the few remaining traces of this history.

Within the park boundaries lies the highest natural point in the District of Columbia, 429 feet above sea level. Fort Reno also hosts community gardens, free rock concerts in the summer, sledding in the winter, and tennis courts, playing fields, and dog-walkers year round. Wilson HS baseball now uses the ball field for its’ home games.

Tenleytown was transformed on October 2, 1941 when Sears Roebuck opened its department store on Wisconsin Avenue at Albemarle Street. At the time the store was notable for its size and for its 300 car rooftop parking lot. In the 1990s, Sears abandoned its retail operation at the location and the building was used by Hechinger hardware until its demise in the late 1990s. In the 2000s, the building was converted to a mixed-use development complex called Cityline at Tenley, with luxury condos (The Cityline) on the top levels, a Best Buy and a Container Store at street level, and an Ace Hardware underground, located within the parking garage that serves the aforementioned stores.
One Love

If I had the power
I’d Cloth the naked feed the hungry
If I had the strength I’d move mountains
make them tumble to the sea.

If I had the power I’d scare the leaders man
make them humble about there lies
If I had the strength I’d hug the children yeah
give them hope till the day they die

One love
thats all I am
One man standing sturdy
One love
In this great big world
One love thats all we need

It’s gonna take two hands
two eyes
two feet
too realize
that we have the power

One love
thats all I am
One man standing sturdy
One love
In this great big world
One love thats all we need

The “Green Room” Was an Idea Christopher Meehan and I had about a online talk show that did it’s interviews totally virtual.

The set was a virtual 3D set and all interviews were SKYPED in from remote locations. The “Green Room” was produced in real time with a staff of 4 and two computers and a high bandwidth internet connection.

We used the “Telecaster” from Newtek which turned out to be a fantastic piece of equiment for online broadcasting . . . we only used on camera and with the “Telecasters” virtual camera it looks like we have a whole studio of equipment.

Check out the Newtek site here…

We are looking to buy a “Telecaster” very soon and produce a daily morning show.
